Study on the safety and efficacy of external physical vibration lithecbole assisted extracorporeal lithotripsy in the treatment of elderly kidney calculi
Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of external physical vibration lithecbole (EPVL)and assisted extracorporeal lithotripsy(ESWL) in the treatment of elderly patients with kidney stones (stone diameter<15 mm). Methods We conducted a retrospectively clinical data analysis of 85 elderly patients with kidney stones (stone diameter<15 mm) admitted to Central Hospital of Linyi City from March 2019 to January 2022. The patients were divided into EPVL group (EPVL-assisted stone removal after ESWL, 42 cases) and control group (natural routine stone removal after ESWL, 43 cases) according to different intervention methods after ESWL.The daily stone removal rate (SER),stone removal rate (SFR) at 1st and 2nd week of the two groups were compared and analyzed. The incidence of adverse reactions and complications in the two groups were analyzed, and the treatment satisfaction was analyzed. Results The SER of the day, the SFR in week 1 and SFR in week 2 of EPVL group were higher than the control group(all P<0.05). There was no significant differences in the side effects of lumbago, hematueia, skin allergy, fever and vertigo between the two groups (all P>0.05), and there was no significant differences in the complications between the groups (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the treatment satisfaction between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions EPVL is a safe and effective method of active auxiliary stone expulsion, with high stone expulsion rate and clearance rate.
