Objective:To improve the level of the clinical diagnosis and treatment of scrotal lipoma by investigating its characteristics . Method:One case of scrotal lipoma was reported and the related literatures were reviewed in order to analyze and summarize the patient’s datas.The patient was a 68-year-old male.He had been found the right scrotal mass for more than 1 year,which developed progressively.Physical examination showed that there was an oval mass was in the right side of the scrotum and its diameter was about 3cm ,with clear boundary, hard texture,good activity,no tenderness. Color doppler ultrasound of scrotum indicated that a mass was in the right scrotum and its size was 3.5cm×2.5cm×1.3cm,with clear boundary between testis and the tumor.In the end,a complete surgical excision was performed. Result:The resected lesion was send to do pathological examination and proved to be scrotal lipoma and the patient recovered very well and was discharged. Conclusion:Scrotal lipoma is a rare tumor of scrotum that grow slowly.The disease generally has no obvious discomfort symptoms and may be misdiagnosed before operation.The diagnosis depends on the pathological examination of the resected lesion.Large scrotal lipoma should be resected.Long-follow-up plan is needed,even though it has a low incidence of relapse.
