Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in secondary surgery of recurrent kidney stones.Method: Retrospective analysis of 24 cases of percutaneous nephrolithotomy in treatment of recurrent kidney stones in our hospital from 2010 June to 2013 July.Result: 24 patients underwent PCNL surgery, and postoperative KUB showed 21 cases of stone cleared, of which stone clearance rate was 87.5%; 3 patients had residual calculi. One patient who failed to take calculus underwent extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy after surgery. A second PCNL was applied to one case with postoperative extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy. Operation time was from 40 to 110 mins, average 80 mins. No serious complications occurred after operation. Conclusion: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is a safe and effective method in secondary surgery of recurrent kidney stones.
