Objective To investigate the expression of PBK/TOPK and its influence on the proliferation and migration of BIU-87 bladder cancer cell line. Methods QRTPCR and Western blot were used to detect PBK/TOPK expression in 3 cases of bladder cancer and matched normal tissues. Then, PBK/TOPK expression was knocked down and up-regulated in BIU-87 cell line. CCK-8 assay was used to assess cell proliferation, and Transwell assay was used to evaluate cell migration. Results QRT-PCR and Western blot results demonstrated that PBK/TOPK was highly expressed in bladder cancer tissues compared with those in normal tissues(P<0.05). Meanwhile, PBK/TOPK knockdown significantly inhibited cell proliferation and migration, but PBK/TOPK overexpression significantly promoted cell proliferation and migration(P<0.05). Conclusions PBK/TOPK is highly expressed in bladder cancer, which is contributed to cell proliferation and migration.
